Romantic destination wedding at Rough and Ready Vineyard
I met Katie long before her wedding day.
She was a spectacled, shy 5th grader who happened to be placed in my teepee during my first summer as a junior camp counselor (we had teepees instead of cabins, how cute is that?!) She was quiet and polite and the smartest little thing, and her best friend Jenna was always by her side (nothing's changed -- you'll see Jenna give a heartfelt speech as Maid of Honor <3). In college, I volunteered as a youth leader at our church, and Katie was a part of a small group of high school girls I had the honor of mentoring for a year. I'm pretty sure Katie, and the rest of those girls, taught me more than I ever could have. Katie always stood out as someone full of love for everyone, eager to do good, and always giving of herself. I adored her. And still do.
When she asked Jarrett and me to film her wedding in Rough & Ready, California, I squealed knowing we'd get to create something beautiful and precious for her and Tye. To see her as a beautiful, grown woman who still has that kind, generous spirit I saw in her formative years was truly an honor. And finally meeting Tye and seeing the way he looks at her, the way they laugh together, and the way their friends and family talk about how their relationship blesses everyone around them, you wouldn't be surprised to see how many times I cried tears of joy throughout their wedding day. It filled my heart in more ways than you'd imagine. And I hope their film -- filled with gorgeous details, heartfelt vows, and an amazing sunset session -- fills your heart too.
